This course focuses on peace education, exploring the design of learning experiences that promote peace and social justice. Students will learn to analyze the roots of violence and conflict and identify the role that education can play in building a more peaceful society. Through lectures, discussions, case studies, and practical exercises, students will develop the skills to design and implement peace education programs, curricula, and activities that are contextually appropriate and culturally sensitive. By the end of the course, students will have gained the knowledge and tools necessary to promote peace, justice, and human rights through education, as well as the ability to critically evaluate and improve existing peace education programs.
