This course explores the Anabaptist beliefs and perspectives on peacebuilding, examining the theological and historical roots of the Anabaptist tradition, and its relevance to contemporary peacebuilding initiatives. Through readings, lectures, case studies, and practical exercises, students will gain a deeper understanding of Anabaptist beliefs related to nonviolence, social justice, and community building, and their impact on peacebuilding practices. The course will also examine the challenges and opportunities of promoting Anabaptist beliefs in diverse settings, and the role of dialogue, collaboration, and contextualization in building peaceful and inclusive societies. By the end of the course, students will have gained the knowledge and skills to critically evaluate Anabaptist perspectives on peacebuilding, and design strategies for promoting peace that are grounded in Anabaptist beliefs and principles.
